October was deemed Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1985 by a pharmaceutical company. While 1 out of 9 women will get breast cancer in her lifetime, 8 of us likely won't. That does not mean that awareness isn't important, but I'd rather frame my learning in a positive light. And so, for the sake of my brain I think of October as Breast Health Awareness Month.
